Peak Outsourcing International BLZ LTD. and Belize City Council Sign Landmark Memorandum of Understanding

Belize City, Belize, July 10, 2024 – Peak Outsourcing International BLZ LTD., a leading provider of outsourcing solutions, and the Belize City Council have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today at City Hall, marking the beginning of a significant partnership aimed at enhancing job placement and career development opportunities for the residents of Belize City. 

The signing ceremony was attended by key stakeholders including Mayor of Belize, His Worship Bernard Wagner; Darwin Barrios, Vice President of Latin America for Peak Outsourcing, who is currently on visit from Columbia; and distinguished guests from various sectors. The event signifies a collaborative effort to foster employability and economic growth within the community. 

In his opening remarks, Orson Picart, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Peak Outsourcing International BLZ LTD., emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “This MOU marks the beginning of a significant partnership aimed at enhancing job placement and career development opportunities for the residents of Belize City. At Peak Outsourcing International BLZ LTD., we are committed to offering exciting career opportunities for Belizeans. Our goal is to provide gainful employment to qualified individuals, including recent graduates and students who can work full-time while pursuing their education.”

The Belize City Council, under the leadership of Mayor Bernard Wagner, shares this vision of fostering employability and economic growth within the community. The MOU outlines several key areas of collaboration, which include:

1. Training and Developmental Programs: Development and implementation of training programs aimed at enhancing the skills and competencies of Belize City residents, preparing them for employment in the BPO sector.

2. Micro-Credentials for BPO Industry Newbies: Offering micro-credentialing programs designed to provide foundational knowledge and skills for individuals new to the BPO sector.

3. Community-Based Initiatives: Collaboration on community-based initiatives that promote social and economic development. Potential projects include educational outreach programs, health and wellness campaigns, and environmental sustainability efforts.

4. Internships and Apprenticeships: Provision of internships and apprenticeship opportunities to students and young professionals, offering hands-on experience in the BPO sector.

5. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects: Joint development and implementation of CSR projects that address key community needs, such as youth empowerment, poverty alleviation, and digital literacy. Engaging local stakeholders and community members in these projects will ensure their relevance and impact.

Mayor Bernard Wagner highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership, stating, “The Belize City Council is devoted to facilitating job placements, internships, and career development opportunities for Belize City residents. Together, we recognize the mutual benefits and opportunities that arise from a collaborative partnership focused on job placement financial stability and career development.”

Darwin Barrios, VP for LATAM at Peak, shared that the MOU will remain in force for a period of two years, subject to review and renewal upon mutual agreement. Regular meetings between representatives of both organizations will ensure progress is monitored, challenges are addressed, and new areas of collaboration are explored. An annual report will be prepared jointly to evaluate the outcomes of the partnership and make recommendations for improvement.
